1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not show symptoms. Regular rapid lateral flow device (LFD) testing of people without symptomshelps find cases which would otherwise go undetected. This helps to break chains of transmission and limit the spread of this virus. Anyone in Scotland who does not have Covid-19 symptoms can access free twice weekly LFD testing. Rapid Covid-19 tests are only suitable for those who do not have Covid-19 symptoms.

The community testing programme alternates between local fire stations* and over the next few weeks will be available from 10:30am – 3pm in the following locations:

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a new: continuous cough; fever / high temperature (37.8°C or greater) and/or a loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste (anosmia). A new continuous cough is where you: have a new cough that’s lasted for an hour; have had 3 or more episodes of coughing in 24 hours or are coughing more than usual.

Your Borders walk -through test site, which is operated by the UK Government’s Department of Health and Social Care, at Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels (Marigold Dr, TD1 2LP) between 3:30pm and 8pm
