‘Forgotten Fleece Tales’ is a celebration of the space where art, craft, story and ecology come together. The exhibition features a collection of works by Scottish artists, madeusing ‘waste’ or ‘unwanted’ Scottish fleece, and by-products of industrial fleece processing.

Showcasing a combination of clothing, wall hangings, home textiles, sculptural pieces and interactive experiences, ‘Forgotten Fleece Tales’ provides an immersive and in-depth exploration of the enduring value of Scottish fleece, from its heritage to hopes for a sustainable future.
These themes are further drawn out by a series of short stories, specially written for each piece, which draw on Scottish folklore, history and landscapes. These will invite visitors to form a closer connection with the story of wool – both in the work on display in their everyday lives.

‘Forgotten Fleece Tales’ aims to engage visitors with multi-sensory experiences, challenging them to honour the unique place of wool in our history, and to explore innovative ways to rethink it as a sustainable and versatile natural material for our future.
